dorffuehrung

Do you know what "gersauern" means? Do you know that Gersau had its own jurisdiction and its own military? Did you not?

Then book a guided tour of the village and find out more about the history of the "old-fry Republic of Gersau". For over 400 years, Gersau was the smallest republic - a "frys Land". This is a "unique feature of Swiss history". (A. Müller)

During the tour, you will discover particularly beautiful squares, the characteristic church, the magnificent Old Town Hall and stately manor houses.

If you wish, you can book a visit to the local museum in addition to the guided tour.
