Guest card
As an overnight guest in Gersau, you benefit from various discounts on mountain railways, museums and excursions in the region with the Schwyz Guest Card.
The guest card is valid during your stay in the region. Your accommodation will send you the guest card by email or give it to you at check-in. You can load the guest card into your smartphone wallet.
Gersau offers the following discounts with the guest card for guests staying overnight in Gersau itself:
- Free use of mountain bus no. 535, Gersau Schiffstation-Gersau Ober Gschwend
- Free mini golf
- Free public guided tours of the village (July and August, Thursday 5.00 pm, meeting point boat station, registration by Wednesday 12.00 pm)
- Free entry to the two lidos
- Free photo orientation walk in Gersau
- 5.00 CHF reduction on sledge and snowshoe hire at Rigi Burggeist
Tourist taxes
Information for guests and owners/tenants of second homes
Every guest staying overnight in the district of Gersau is subject to visitor's tax. You pay the visitor's tax to the accommodation provider.
The visitor's tax is per person and night:
Adults: CHF 3.50
Children & teenagers (6-18 years): CHF 1.75
Children under 6 years: free of charge
Owners and tenants of second homes are also subject to the visitor's tax.
You pay the visitor's tax in the form of an annual flat rate. Please get in touch with the contact centre listed below.
The annual flat rate is:
Flat / house: CHF 155.00
Residential boats (boats with sleeping accommodation): CHF 40.00
When you pay the visitor's tax, you will receive a Guest card and benefit from various discounts. (See above)
