Stradivari Fest

The StradivariFEST Gersau is a tradition and a firm institution in the last week of July. Concerts take place on the lake, in the magnificent church, in splendid hotel halls, next to and in cosy chapels, at breathtaking vantage points and on graceful ships, because the focus is on "playing" special spaces.
Another pillar of the StradivariFEST is the contact between the audience and the musicians. That's why an aperitif is served after every concert, where people can get to know each other and exchange ideas.
This year, Lea Vaterlaus, a dedicated musicologist and music author, is joining the festival. She will take you into Mozart's world and enable an even deeper, more lively approach to the music.

The history
In the past, six Stradivari instruments were kept by the Stradivari Foundation Habisreutinger in Gersau. These were later loaned out and always returned to Gersau once a year, at the end of July, for the annual concert.
This tradition was expanded by Maja Weber in 2015 to become the StradivariFEST and has become an integral part of Gersau.
